Halloween Style Year-Round

I just discovered the Blackman Cruz online workshop. They seem to be the source of every amazing, goth-inspired piece that I've ever seen in a magazine, liked, and been unable to locate.

So in honor of Halloween, I am posting my favorite pieces from BC. Even though they are mercilessly out of my price range and just admiring them is pure torture.

Prices are not listed on the site, but Pimp Lighting lists the skull lamp at $2200. Scary.

Wilton Desk Lamp

This Wilton Desk Lamp from Crate and Barrel looks like the sort of vintage piece you'd find at a great flea market. Maybe somewhere in Europe.

The fluted gold base is pretty snazzy. But my favorite detail is the interior of the lacquered black steel shade. It's painted gold.

Fairy Tale Lighting

A tree with fruit made of light? This is the stuff that fairy tales are made of. Well decorated fairy tales, of course.

Did anyone else read The Twelve Dancing Princesses growing up? The Illustrations of the underground forest are amazing. I used to check it out of the school library every week just to look at the pictures. But I never owned a copy.

Sunrise Lampshade

The sunrise lampshade by Lauren Moriarty changes color as the shade is heated by the bulb, revealing the London skyline. These won't be available until falls. I'm hoping that they add a few more cities to the repertoire.

Ikea's Kulla Lamp

Sometimes a room just needs a pop of color. Nothing fussy. Just one bright detail to add depth. The right red is a fabulous accent color. But finding sophisticated red accessories isn't easy.

So I was glad to see this great red lamp. The powder-coated finish has some orange in it, so it's not too sugary. And it's from Ikea, no less.

Silhouette Wall Light

When turned off, the Silhouette wall light looks like a plain, white rectangle. But when turned on with the pull of the cord, the a glowing light in the shape of a light appears. The piece is made of MDF board and fire resistant fabric..
