Radiator Food Warmer

The grass is always greener on the other side. But, if you live in Texas you might find yourself wishing it didn't stay green so much of the year.

We don't really get a lot of seasons here in Dallas. Example: it's November, 13th, and today's high is 86. We still have our air conditioners running.

So when I see something like this radiator-top breakfast tray, I can't help but feel a pang of jealousy.

We don't get many days that require radiators. Or have radiators, for that matter. But I like to imagine curling up in a warm chair on a cold day and enjoying a book, a latte and a muffin.

The Fruit and Fire Candle Dish by Willem Noyons is the only centerpiece you'll ever need. It's a candle holder one day and a fruit bowl the next.

I especially like it as a fruit bowl. It looks very organic and a bit surreal.

Cut + Serve Tray

I love thoughtfully designed products like this Cut + Serve tray. It has a built-in cutting board for slicing, a cubby in which to stash your knife, and a way to keep your olives, or grapes, or grape tomatoes away from your crackers and bread.

Serveware as Art

I love this serving bowl from Iggloo. It's modern. It's functional. I love that it has its own wooden platform and matching spoon. But how often do I host a dinner party where I could showcase something like this?

So I wonder how else could I use it. Perhaps as a simple display piece? But, for me, what makes a design is the combination of beauty and function.

The piece has a 5" diameter. I can picture it in a spa setting filled with bath salt. Or even on a bathroom shelf filled with rolled hand towels.

It might also work as a bowl for keys and mail on an entry table.
